Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies inventory for new clearance and responds to trends in clearance sales and margins to optimize sell-through and minimize margin loss.
- Assists in creating ad layouts and pricing to achieve sales and margin plan, maintains ad rotations, understands and assists in making projections on the Financial Quads report, and participates in all proofing sessions.
- Assists with item selection, pricing, and positioning in plan-o-guides/plan-o-grams.
- P-O-G Assistance that includes item spreadsheet for new P-O-G and physical help in setting new P-O-G
- Prepares ad copy, price and samples for Advertising Department. Proofs ad draft and any corrections.
- Analyzes store sales performance and inventory needs to facilitate proper decision-making with respect to allocation and replenishment of merchandise. Identifying potential additions and deletions from POG SKU analysis.
- Allocates merchandise receipts to stores in a manner that minimizes markdowns, maximizes sales and gross margin while achieving inventory turnover goals.
- Achieves proper inventory levels in relation to each store’s sales through effective allocation and replenishment decisions; and for severe imbalances, by the use of approved inter-store or inter-warehouse transfers.
- Sets up, maintains, and manages inventory replenishment programs to achieve the desired in-stock position and to maximize sales while ensuring inventory turn and open-to-buy goals are met.
- Promptly responds to merchandise needs and allocation issues raised by district team leaders, store leadership, or distribution center management.
- Ensures that new stores open with the planned level of inventory. Monitors and maintains planned inventory levels throughout the grand opening period.
- Ensures that appropriate quantities of featured ad merchandise are allocated to every store.
- Utilizes the ad in-stock and future in-stock reports to assure in-stock requirements and reacts accordingly.
- Creates purchase orders and works with vendors to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
Requirements
- Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to analyze detailed numerical information and make accurate, logical decisions.
- Ability to anticipate and quickly react in a dynamic business environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the company.
- Strong organizational skills.
